So i was browsing the web today and came across the latest Samsonite X Swarovski Ltd edition blah blah rubbish collabo, it made me think that everything is going by the way of the ”ltd edition”, shoes, clothes, accessories, cars, furniture…. you name it, and i bet someone has done a Ltd ”100 only” version in some weird colour only available out of a boutique in Tokyo (and then half an hr later on ebay), kinda funny to think that if everything is Ltd, maybe you’re better off getting the regular version that nobody wants but in a few yrs time they’ll be saying.. ”oh shyt, yeah i remember that colourway…”
So anyways, vintage luggage, they just dont make them like they used to, i guess the new stuff nowadays is more practical, functional made out of hi-tech lightweight, smash proof, water resistant materials, but they all look the same, just checkout the people waiting by conveyor belts at airports, everyone always takes the wrong bag then has to fall over themselves trying to put it back on the belt. Vintage luggage rocks, the charm, the leather, build quality, stories behind their travels and adventures, irreplaceable, inimitable. I want some, think i’ll have to set aside a corner or two in the apartment for..
