And so the summer break draws to an end, back to Uni in a couple weeks. 4 months off for summer is amazing, however towards the end you always get the itch to go back, mind you that soon vanishes, usually after about a week when you get your first assignments.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Polo brand, Ralph Lauren released this leather and perspex collectors trunk. Hand crafted leather straps with individually numbered silver plaque’s on the front. Trunk contains  40 ltd edition embroidered Polo shirts all for a mere $5000,  $125 a shirt… bargain!

Ralph Lauren is an impressive company and brand, sure they’ve had their ups and downs and in the eyes of some its even disappeared. Fair weather hype fools, who have now jumped ship and are ‘feeling’ Lacoste, i hate Lacoste. The Izod to me seems so pretentious, even back in the day it was something middle management wore on casual fridays. I love Hip Hop, Polo takes me back, so i’m rocking the Lo steez again this winter, spring, summer… skool yourself.

So i’m slowly starting to sort my apartment out, to be fair its been left unattended for way to long, mainly due to not having much time, more so to do with laziness i guess. The pic above is of our hallway entrance, yeah theres a few shoes there i know, although they’re not all mine i might add (you dont even want to look in some of the wardrobes!!) but yeah, something needs to be done!..

Anyways, it could be worse, the pic above is of the infamous old Kowloon walled city, it was located outside Hong Kong, China during British rule. Originally a former watchpost to protect the area against pirates, it was occupied by Japan during World War II and subsequently taken over by squatters after Japan surrendered. Neither Britain nor China wanted resposibility for it, so it became its own lawless city. Its population flourished for decades, with residents building corridors above street level, which was clogged with rubbish. The buildings grew so tall that sunlight couldnt reach the bottom levels, the entire city was lit by flourescent lights. It was a place where brothels, casinos, opium dens, cocaine parlors and food courts serving dog meat and secret factories ran unmolested by authorities. In 1993 it was torn down after a mutual decision by British and Chinese authorities, who had finally grown tired and wary of the unsanitary, anarchic city and its out of control population… makes my cramp space look like an empty carpark =]
